Ingredients |

Cups of sifted confectioners' sugar (also know as powered
sugar) |

Cup of butter or margarine |

Egg |

Teaspoon of vanilla |

Cup of ground walnuts |
2 1/2 |
Cups of all purpose flour |

Teaspoon of baking soda |

Teaspoon of Cream of Tartar |

Directions |

Cream sugar and butter/margarine in a large mixing bowl |
|
Mix in egg, vanilla, ground walnuts |
|
Stir in flour, baking soda and Cream of Tartar |
|
Place in refrigerator and to let cool for 2 to 3 hours |

Preheat oven to 375 degrees |
|
Use only half the cookie dough and leave the rest in the refrigerator. |

Sprinkle flour onto a surface to roll out the dough |
|
Roll the dough to about 1/4 inch |
|
Cut out cookies using your favorite cookie cutter(s) |
|
Place cut out cookies onto a lightly greased baking sheet |
|
Bake for 7 to 8 minutes until lightly golden brown -- or whatever you
want |

Decorate cookies after they cool -- see icing below |

Optional Icing -- or use whatever you want |
|
Blend 1 cup of sifted confectioners' sugar (also know as powered sugar),
1/4 teaspoon of salt, 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla, and enough water to making
icing easy to squeeze through a decorating tube or to spread depending
on how you are going to use it. |

You can add food coloring if needed. |
