|
Ingredients |
1 |
Cup of unsalted butter -- use real butter |
1
|
Cup white granulated sugar -- any sugar works but I prefer cane sugar. |
2 |
Eggs (Large) |
1 |
Tablespoon of vanilla extract |
2 |
Cups uncooked old fashion oats |
2 |
Cups general purpose flour -- I prefer unbleached all purpose flour
but any all purpose flour will work. |
1 |
Cup crushed walnuts (8 ounces) -- use small chunks not ground walnuts.
I twist walnut halves to get chunks but you can also buy chopped walnuts. |
1 |
Cup (8 ounces) of semi-sweet chocolate morsels -- I prefer Hershey
Dark Chocolate morsels |
2 |
Tablespoons of Rum -- Optional. This adds the rum flavor but the alcohol
evaporates during the baking. |
|
Directions |
|
Mix well in a large bowl the butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla -- and
optional rum |
|
Mix in the flour |
|
Stir in the oats, nuts, and chocolate morsels |
|
Use a tablespoon to drop onto ungreased cookie sheet. I prefer the
dual layer air cookie sheet. You can also use parchment paper if you
wish. |
|
Bake at 375º F. for about 12 - 13 minutes. The cookies should
have a light brown highlight on top. |
|
|
This will make more than 2 dozen cookies. If you
wish, a half batch is very
easy to make. You can experiment with different nuts and morsels. |
